Combining a DSC attachment with an X-ray diffraction unit means that you eliminate the uncertainty of comparing XRD and DSC data obtained separately. The DSC attachment allows simultaneous characterization of dehydration, polymorphic phase transitions, melting, crystallization, and decomposition of pharmaceuticals. It allows you to distinguish exothermic and endothermic reactions and provides their enthalpies and temperatures. It can probe the effects of temperature history and heat treatment on structural and thermal properties.
